Barnsley have appointed American Dane Murphy as their new chief executive.
The 33-year-old former footballer takes over six months after Gauthier Ganaye left for OGC Nice, with co-chairman and fellow American Paul Conway standing in since January.
Murphy played for DC United and New York Cosmos as well as German club VFL Osnabruck. After retiring from playing, he was a scout for the Cosmos then technical director at DC United.
He told the Chronicle: "I am delighted to be here. I can feel the enthusiasm and energy around the club and the community from the few days I have been here and I am looking forward to my time at the club."
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
