A SURVEY has been created to gather Barnsley residents’ views on crime and anti-social behaviour.
The survey, created by the Safer Barnsley Partnership Board, aims to inform the priorities of the council, emergency services and health trusts for the year ahead and consists of questions on people’s awareness of different types of crime, how safe they feel living in Barnsley and how crime and anti-social behaviour have changed in the past 12 months.
Coun Jenny Platts, cabinet spokesperson for communities, said: “I would encourage everyone to take part in this survey. The information given helps the partnership to see the full picture of what residents are experiencing and help them to build resources and plans that tackle local issues, helping to build a better Barnsley.”
The SBPB is a joint venture between Barnsley Council, South Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, National Probation Trust, South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Barnsley Clinical Commissioning Group, and the results of the survey will be used to plan how these groups can work with local businesses, housing associations and community organisations in 2020.
Its aim is that Barnsley people and communities are safe, are able to contribute to community life and take responsibility for their actions and how they affect others.
