Elliot Simoes has impressed with his performances for the under 23s but may have to wait longer to be included in the first team squad.
The 19-year-old Portuguese-born winger has scored five goals in three games for the under 23s so far this season. He is yet to make an appearance for the first team following his move from non-league club FC United of Manchester in January.
Head coach Daniel Stendel told the Chronicle: “We considered him for the first team but we have some injured players who are coming back. We did look at him and he trained with us in the last weeks and he did well.
“Any player who shows good performances for the under 23s will have a chance to train with the first team. He has improved from the pre-season until now and we will see what is in the future for him.”
