A TEACHER who has worked at the same primary school for 30 years is saying her goodbyes.

Julie Davies is retiring from Holy Rood Catholic Primary today.

Julie, 61, is a long-standing member of staff at the school and has taught the early years pupils from when they start their classes until they leave early years.

Julie celebrates her last day at the school today, where students and staff paid a fond farewell.

Karen Dobson, head teacher, said: “Mrs Davies has been a credit to our school for over 30 years.

“She is a valued member of not only our school, but of the wider community as well, as she plays a big part in the local parish too.

“The children love her, as do the rest of the staff here at Holy Rood, and she has had an impact on countless pupils she has taught.

“The children will definitely miss her, and I wish her all the best in her retirement.”
