Mamadou Thiam and Dani Pinillos could follow Dimitri Cavare in leaving Oakwell before the end of the season.

Cavare moved to Swiss club Sion for an undisclosed fee on Monday.  The French full-back, 25, played 65 games for Barnsley after signing from Rennes in 2017 but was not in Gerhard Struber’s first team plans. Struber said: “I am very happy that Dimi found a new club. It is good for everyone.”

Winger Thiam and left-back Pinillos have both not featured since September.  Struber said: “Right now they are staying. We hope that both players find a club in the next time.  “They know it is not easy for them here. We might have information in the next few days.”
