SOUTH Yorkshire Police has launched its third survey which will shape priorities for the next three months.
Officers are conducting a traffic survey where people can have their say on what the areas of priority for the Road Policing Team should be.
In September, more than 2,000 people had their say on what priorities should be for the next three months.
The results showed 1,048, which is 48 per cent of the people surveyed, wanted officers to tackle drivers who drive under the influence of drink and drugs.
A total of 971 people wanted officers to tackle drivers who use vehicles in an antisocial manner and 916, which is 39 per cent of people surveyed, wanted officers to target those who use a mobile while driving.
Jason Booth, roads policing inspector, said: “Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who takes the time to complete our survey.
“We want to tackle matters that mean the most to our communities alongside our day-to-day work of disrupting and denying criminals the use of our road network.
“Since we have been gathering your views, we have implemented a dedicated traffic car that patrols identified ‘hot spot’ areas, carried out regular operations in partnership with the DVLA and partners and also held our first Operation Duxford, which focused on speeding.
“We would like to hope that people who follow our social media channels frequently see that we are working hard to make the roads of South Yorkshire safer.
“Please have your say, complete the survey and help us shape our work for the future months.”
The survey can be completed now on South Yorkshire Police alerts, and will remain open until March 2.
