Barnsley are no longer looking for a free agent centre-back and will go with the squad they have now for the final nine matches of the season.

The Reds have considered unattached trialists but head coach Gerhard Struber told the Chronicle: “We go with the squad that we have.

"We don’t bring in the next time a new centre-back.  We don’t have the right one to help us. It is better that we give focus and support to this squad and we don’t change a centre-back.”

Barnsley's current centre-backs are 21-year-old Aapo Halme, January signing Michael Sollbauer and Mads Andersen, who has been left out for the last five weeks following some costly mistakes.
