A CANNABIS farm with an estimated street value of £60,000 has been uncovered.

Officers from South Yorkshire Police executed a warrant yesterday as part of Operation Duxford on Doncaster Road.

Two rooms containing over 60 plants were found, each plant with a street value of £1,000.

A 49-year-old man has been arrested by officers on suspicion of the production of cannabis.

Chief Inspector Julie Mitchell said: “We work closely with our partners in local authorities to ensure the properties and tenants are safeguarded and that those responsible are caught and held accountable for their actions.

“We understand communities may feel we do not always take action following reports, however each piece of information helps to build a bigger picture, to ensure that our enforcement action is successful.”

A 42-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis in connection to the property.
