PRIME Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed that all schools are to shut from Friday.
During a press conference held today (Wednesday), the PM said that schools will remain closed until further notice, to combat the spread of coronavirus.
Provisions will be made for children whose parents are key workers and some schools will remain open for vulnerable children.
Children eligible for free school meals will receive vouchers and schools that are providing food will be reimbursed.
Exams that are due to take place in May and June have also been postponed.
So far, 104 people have died from coronavirus and 2,626 cases have been confirmed.
