HIGHWAYS England has announced a multi-million pound project to improve the A628 Woodhead Pass.

The major road, which connects Barnsley to Greater Manchester through Flouch, will see a raft of repairs and maintenance work as part of the £5m package.

Work to repair several retaining walls has already started, with the full scheme due to finish in March 2021.

The road is set to be fully closed on the weekends of June 5 to 8, and July 3 to 5, with diversions in place.
