A POPULAR Barnsley tourist attraction will appear on a new TV show which documents the daily lives of its busy farmers.

Brothers Robert and David Nicholson, from Cannon Hall Farm, are no strangers to the camera after they appeared on the Channel Five show - ‘Springtime on the Farm’ - earlier in the year.

Following on from the success of the show, they were contacted to star in their very own programme, ‘This Week on the Farm’, which shows the highs and lows of farming life.

“The difference with this programme is that it shows what farming is like outside of the lambing period,” said farmer Robert Nicholson. “Even though lambing is our busiest time, there’s still a lot to be done outside of those few months and this programme shows us tending to our animals as well as preparing for summer.”

The brothers were forced to film the majority of the show themselves after the coronavirus pandemic prevented a camera crew from visiting the farm.

“We had just started filming when the virus hit,” added Robert. “So there’s bits that were filmed by a professional camera crew, and bits that were done entirely by us. Our farmer Dale did a lot of the filming for us which really helped us out.”

‘This Week on the Farm’ will air on Tuesday at 8pm on Channel Five, and will run for six weeks.
