A bubble at a primary school in Mapplewell has had to close after a child tested positive for Covid-19.
Wellgate Primary School confirmed that the year two bubble would close today (September 8) after a child tested positive for the virus.
A statement released via social media said: “In line with Public Health Guidance, we have closed the year two bubble.
“The children and staff in this bubble are required to self-isolate. In line with the guidance, the other bubbles in school will remain open and children should still attend school including siblings of children in year two.

We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.

Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
