Barnsley midfielder Marcel Ritzmaier has joined Rapid Wien on loan for the season.
The 27-year-old Austrian joined in January from Wolfsberger and played 22 games for the Reds.
He was the first signing made by head coach Gerhard Struber, who looks set to join New York Red Bulls tomorrow.
Barnsley are not expected to do any more business before the international transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.
