POLICE officers from Barnsley North followed up recent reports of illegal lamping on Staincross Common.

Lamping is the offence of using lights in pitch darkness to startle animals before shooting them or using dogs to chase them.

On Saturday, patrols focused on Staincross Common but nothing raised any concerns.

Patrols are now focussed around Darton, Mapplewell and Kexborough while other members of the policing team will be in Old Town and St Helen’s wards.
