POLICE are investigating after a man was hit by a car and then seriously assaulted.

The 33-year-old man was crossing Burman Road, Wath-upon-Dearne at around 5pm on November 26, when he was clipped by a blue Volkswagen Polo.

Two men then reportedly got out of the car and attacked the man, driving away when a passer-by intervened.

The victim was taken to Rotherham Hospital, where he has been treated for head and facial injuries.
