A MEMORIAL bench dedicated to Barnsley’s war veterans has been unveiled by the Mayor of Barnsley.
The bench - situated outside St John the Baptist Church in Royston - was donated by Royston-founded charity Help 4 Homeless Veterans.
Mayor Coun Caroline Makinson unveiled the bench alongside Fr Craig Tomlinson and Tom Wood and Steve Bentham-Bates of the charity.
She told the Chronicle: “It’s in a fitting place as it’s a focal point of the village. We hope many people will come here to pay their respects.”
