A BUS company has urged teens to be more considerate during adverse weather after a driver was pummelled with snowballs while on shift.
Having stopped in Darfield on Saturday, a Stagecoach driver on the X19 service - from Doncaster to Barnsley - opened the door for a group of young people who instead threw numerous snowballs before running away.
A spokesperson added: “Thankfully neither the driver nor any passengers were hurt but as a key worker helping people get where they need to go, it’s distressing to have to carry on driving people home while soaking wet.
“Please think of those helping the community at this difficult time and show kindness not unkind behaviour.”
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
