PLANS to open a new fast-food restaurant in Birdwell were approved by Barnsley Council’s planning board on Wednesday.
A new McDonald’s restaurant is set to be built next to Kestrel Rise, and it will bring a total of 65 new jobs to the area - 30 full-time and 35 part-time.
The restaurant will have a drive-through facility, car parking and a play frame outside the facility.
It will be Barnsley’s fifth McDonald’s restaurant, adding to branches on Old Mill Lane, Upper New Street, Stairfoot roundabout and Tankersley.
