POP superstar Kylie Minogue caused a social media stir in Barnsley over the weekend - after sharing a picture looking as if she was getting ready for a night in t’tarn.

The photograph, it’s been revealed, was snapped on the 53-year-old’s 2019 visit to The Civic’s Cross The Sky theatre group - which she shared without any context other than, fittingly, lyrics from her track ‘Step Back In Time’.

The group works with adults with learning disabilities and autism to show how creativity and the arts can lift wellbeing and confidence.

Kylie received a video from Cross The Sky which showed them rehearsing her 2018 hit, ‘Dancing’, on Twitter as part of their vocal and music training.

The star retweeted the video to her 2.3 million followers along with a message telling them to keep up their great work.

Her visit then followed and was part of a one-off Channel Four programme, ‘Kylie’s Secret Night’, shown on Christmas Day that year.

The group’s musical director and superfan Simon Grainger told the Chronicle at the time: “I went into shock when she walked in I thought it was a lookalike.

“We were singing one of her songs when she arrived and as soon as the group realised who she was there were a lot of screams and laughter.

“It was a lovely afternoon and she is a wonderful woman. They say you should never meet your idols in case you’re disappointed but I still can’t believe I’ve met her, it’s surreal.”
