Mads Andersen could return to the Barnsley team next month says head coach Markus Schopp.

The Danish defender picked up a knee injury in pre-season, after playing every game last season. He is not expected to play this month but could return after the international break in early September.

Schopp said: “He’s doing great but it will take more weeks. Hopefully we can have him back after the break. That would be awesome because he is a big player for us.”

Schopp had hoped striker Obbi Oulare would make his debut tomorrow against Coventry City but it now looks more likely to happen on Tuesday against Luton.

“He will not be ready for tomorrow but we look forward to getting him on Tuesday for the next game.”
