BARNSLEY will have two Swedes working in their front office this season with David Wernersson joining chief executive Khaled Al-Ahmad.

Former teacher Wernersson – who is due to join the Reds as club secretary – was previously CEO of Swedish lower league club LB07 then worked for football coaching company GameInsight.

He will work alongside fellow Swede Al-Ahmad who was appointed last month but has been serving his notice with the City Football Group and is not expected to officially start at Oakwell until next month. They replace former chief executive Dane Murphy and club secretary Taymour Roushdi who left for Nottingham Forest earlier this summer.
