‘TRAFFIC chaos’ outside the borough’s largest school will be discussed by councillors next week.
The current phase of works on Dodworth Road, part of the multi-million pound gyratory scheme which has encroached into the grounds of Horizon Community College, was expected to be completed ahead of students’ return earlier this month.
Tailbacks have occurred at the crossroads and, according to documents, the scheme will be brought up at Thursday’s full council meeting.
Dodworth ward’s Coun Peter Fielding said: “I have grave concerns for the safety of students as the traffic’s been chaotic.
“The increased costs of the Dodworth Road improvement scheme - £7.448m - was approved at cabinet in October last year.
“Is it now likely that the scheme will be completed within this increased budget as a result of the delays?”
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
