Barnsley suffered a sixth straight defeat as they went down 3-2 at home to Sheffield United, who raced into a 3-0 lead before a late fightback.
After a dull first half, United went 3-0 up and the home fans sang 'sacked in the morning' and 'we want Markus out' towards under-pressure manager Markus Schopp.
Devante Cole and Aaron Leya Iseka netted their first goals of the season but the Reds still lost.
While the home fans clapped and chanted for their players after the game, Schopp appeared to be booed off the pitch.
Barnsley remain second-bottom and winless in 12 league matches, which is the longest run under one manager or head coach since Tim Ward in 1959.
Schopp made four changes from the side that lost at Middlesbrough on Wednesday. Toby Sibbick, Liam Kitching, Dominik Frieser and Victor Adeboyejo came into the side for Jordan Williams, Will Hondermarck, Clarke Oduor and Aaron Leya Iseka. Jasper Moon was pushed out of central defence into central midfield alongside Claudio Gomes.
The visitors had the first chance in the fifth minute when former Barnsley player Oli McBurnie won a header against Michal Helik and flicked the ball on for Lys Mousset who was clean through but dragged wide of the left post from the edge of the box.
The game then quietened down, with both sides struggling to pass fluidly in a low-quality contest, although the visitors looked the more threatening overall.
The Blades came close again in the 39th minute when Iliman Ndiaye beat Kitching on the right and crossed for Mousset who, eight yards out, volleyed into the ground and Collins caught easily.
Second later, Moon headed inches wide of the top right corner 15 yards out after meeting Adeboyejo's left-wing cross. Adeboyejo then had his side's first shot on target, flicking Styles' low left-wing cross towards goal but the 'keeper Robin Olsen caught easily.
Olsen was needed again two minutes after the break but easily collected a scuffed Cauley Woodrow shot from just outside the box after a cross by Adeboyejo, following a good run, was cleared straight to the Reds captain.
Mousset then opened the scoring on 51 minutes when he was released by a long ball down the right, beat Helik then cut inside to finish impressively into the bottom right corner.
Two minutes later, Ben Osborn was set free down the same wing and crossed low for Mousset to tap in from close range.
Barnsley then looked totally open and Mousset missed two changes for a hat-trick as he fired over from just inside the box before he was denied at close-range by Collins after good work on the right by McBurnie.
The Reds then had a better spell. Moon nearly scored his first professional goal as he smashed a 15-yard shot against the base of the right post after Woodrow touched a Brittain cross to him. Substitute Devante Cole fired wide six yards out with the goal gaping from Styles' low cross.
But it was United who scored next as Osborn fired into the bottom left corner from 15 yards out after Baldock was played in on the right and pulled the ball back.
Cole pulled one back soon after, volleying home from 12 yards out after Woodrow flicked a Styles cross up into the air. It was his first goal since returning to the club.
Four minutes later, Iseka superbly powered past two defenders and lashed in from the left of the box for his first Barnsley goal.
Moon nearly levelled in the 96th minute but headed Woodrow's right-wing corner wide.
