A RESIDENTIAL development has been given the go ahead by planning officials.
An application for 56 homes on a plot sandwiched between New Road and Lidgett Lane at Tankersley was submitted by Richard Weilding.
It had been approved earlier this year but the applicant resubmitted amended plans to incorporate new property styles.
The amended plans for the site went before the council’s planning regulatory board on Tuesday where it was given the green light, subject to several conditions including one that stipulates parking and manoeuvring areas are surfaced with a solid material and not with loose chippings such as gravel.
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
