PRIME Minister David Cameron has pledged to help a Barnsley company fulfil a massive contract that could bring with it hundreds of jobs.

Dodworth-based Solar Europa secured a £6 billion deal to build solar power plant in Turkey last November but progress has since been slow.Barnsley Central MP Dan Jarvis raised the matter at Prime Minister's Question Time on Wednesday.

He said: "This contract would deliver billions of pounds of investment and deliver just the sort of skilled, well-paid jobs that we need in our town."

Mr Cameron told him: "I will look to see if there is anything in the Whitehall system that is getting in the way of this company."
