PATRIOTIC youngsters in Lundwood have been celebrating all things British.

Littleworth Grange Primary’s pupils studied fundamental British values such as law, democracy and respecting other people’s faiths and beliefs before the half-term break - and they even had a visit from Mayor of Barnsley Coun Jeff Ennis.

Teacher Michelle Wiggins said: “The children enjoyed workshops and each class also undertook an activity to help the community.

“For example they have done litter picking, made cards for the children in Barnsley Hospital’s children’s ward and bookmarks for the elderly who reside in the local nursing home to name but a few.

“The Mayor also presented certificates to one student from each class who had been nominated by their teacher for working really well during the week and for demonstrating British values.”
