TWO people are in hospital following a collision on the M1.

On Saturday at 5.25pm, a black Mercedes CLS250, traveling southbound along the M1 between junction 37 and 36, was in collision with a grey Mercedes CLA220, traveling in the same direction.

The black Mercedes is then said to have hit a bridge on the carriageway before coming to a stop.

A 54-year-old man driving the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He currently remains in a serious but stable condition.

A 41-year-old man driving the grey Mercedes also suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

A police spokesperson said: "Did you see what happened? Do you have dashcam footage that shows either of the vehicles?
