BRITISH Transport Police officers arrested a man after a woman claimed she and her four-year-old son were racially abused by Barnsley football fans.
The alleged abuse took place on a train travelling from Leeds to Bradford on Saturday.
Officers say the woman said fans in her carriage, who were travelling to the game at Valley Parade, were chanting songs containing foul language.When she challenged their behaviour, the group are said to have directed racial abuse at her and her son.
As she stood up to leave the train, the woman took a photo and contacted British Transport Police.
Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.
