AN association which looks after Tankersley Welfare Hall is down to two members and desperately needs support.

Tankersley Community Association is responsible for the maintenance and running of the hall and in previous years has organised the village's summer gala and refreshments for the annual bonfire.

But Tankersley parish council vice chairman Paul Simpkin said: "Sadly, one of their members recently died and they are now down to two individuals. Their task now is looking for community support. They really are struggling big-time people-wise."

The community association members are volunteers and donate time and skills to ensure the welfare hall remains a village resource, accessible to all.

The group particularly needs a handy person and treasurer. Any residents who think they could provide support, even just for a few hours, are asked to contact Roy Jennings on 741128.
