BAFTA award winning playwright John Godber - who spent his student years as a bin man in Barnsley - bringing his new play to the Lamproom Theatre.

During his drama studies at Bretton Hall college, John worked as a coal merchant and bin man to earn a bit of extra cash.

His new play Shafted, which follows 30 years in the life of a couple after the 1984 strike, is coming to the Lamproom Theatre.

John, who is famous for works such as Teechers and Bouncers, says he found a gap in work which explored life afterwards.
