Mike Bahre has signed a permanent contract with Barnsley after helping them reach the Championship while on loan.

The Reds have chosen to activate the clause in the loan deal which allows them to sign the 23-year-old for an agreed fee from Hannover96, and have negotiated a deal with the attacking midfielder.

Bahre, who worked with Reds head coach Daniel Stendel at Hannover, scored his only League One goal in 35 appearances in the 4-2 home win over Fleetwood Town last month. He also played seven cup games and netted in another 4-2 success, at Southend United in the FA Cup in December.

Meanwhile, four of Bahre's team-mates are currently training with the Wales national team in Portugal. Uncapped duo Kieffer Moore and Ben Williams have joined regulars Ryan Hedges and Adam Davies in Ryan Giggs' squad.
