BOXER Lee Noble has come out fighting after being diagnosed with leukaemia.

The plucky 27-year-old from Dodworth was told he had acute lymphoblastic leukaemia just after his last fight.

Speaking from his bed in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield this week, he said he was determined to deliver a knockout punch to the disease – and get back in the ring as soon as he can.

Lee added: "I have good days and dark days but my focus is to lace up those gloves and jump back in the ring where I belong."

Lee had his third dose of a six-week course of chemotherapy this week. He then faces another bone marrow test to determine how effective the treatment has been so far before doctors decide what to do next.
