A BARNSLEY company is looking to the future after securing the rights to be the UK distributor of a screen protector for phones that can convert 2D into 3D without the need for glasses.

The company, 3DU, set up three months ago in the Digital Media Centre, is now taking pre-orders for its first product in preparation for its launch later this month.

The 3D conversion works by applying the specially designed screen protector to a device and then downloading the Whoosh3D app.

The company won the contract to supply the screen protectors after managing director Tom Kitchen-Dunn, met US developers 3D Vision Technologies at a convention in Orlando.
