Hundreds turned out for the first cycling race to be held in the heart of Barnsley for 20 years. The Barnsley Criterium took place on June 24 and marked the start of the town's Tour de France Grand Depart celebrations. It was brought back to the streets of Barnsley by the town's charity cycling squad Team Cystic Fibrosis and provided spectators with an evening of fast-paced, exciting closed circuit racing around a 1.45km route starting and finishing at the town hall.
