BARNSLEY Hospital's emergency department has been rated the best in the country for the quality of its training.
Each year the General Medical Council asks second year foundation trainee doctors, to rate the quality of training in the area they are working at that particular time.
Barnsley Hospital was rated the top in the country for overall satisfaction of training.
Dr David Walker, consultant in emergency medicine at Barnsley Hospital, said: "Junior doctor training is something we take very seriously and put a lot of effort in to, all the staff in the emergency department are very proud of this achievement."
