ROUTINE breast screening appointments at Barnsley hospital have been postponed until further notice.
Due to the currently coronavirus outbreak, routine breast screening appointments have been paused in a bid to reduce the number of people going to hospital.
In a statement issued by Barnsley Hospital it said: “In view of the current outbreak it is important to reduce the traffic of patients through the hospital for nonessential services; hence the postponement of your appointment.
“Based on how this unfolds, we will reappoint you as soon as possible. It would also be very helpful if you do not ring the unit as we have insufficient staff to man the telephones.
“We hope for your understanding during this difficult period.”
