LIAM Swann is hoping the force is with him with his entry into a Star Wars fan film competition being run by Disney.

The filmmaker, who runs Barnsley-based production company Arcadia Film, is a massive fan of the cult sci-fi saga, which catapulted stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher to galactic fame.

Liam, 25, has written and directed Kin which stars young actress Millie Scott-Young, ten, who has recently been cast in ITV’s Tonight Show and Vin Hawke, who has numerous credits across film and television.

The competition - the Star Wars Fan Film Awards 2016 - is judged by Gareth Edwards, the director of Star Wars: Rogue One which is due out this year and also 2014’s Godzilla.
