STARS of Kay Mellor's new television drama In The Club were given hints and tips about labour from two Barnsley mothers who then ended up in the show.

The BBC show is a drama series about a group of expectant parents who bond at antenatal classes, and the lives of the couples leading up to the births.

Hermione Norris, Katherine Parkinson and Jill Halfpenny play three of the expecting parents alongside Will Mellor, Tara Fitzgerald and Sacha Dhawan.

But before filming started, some of the stars who had not given birth were given the low down by Naomi Roberts and Sarah Burgess who were both expecting at the time.

Naomi, 30, of Belle Green Lane, Cudworth, said: "We told them all about being pregnant - the pain, the morning sickness, how it affects your posture. They wanted to know all the gory details.

"They were all really lovely."

Naomi ended up as an extra with Sarah, 26, of Queen's Avenue, Barnsley, during a scene at an antenatal class.

In The Club in on BBC One on Tuesdays at 9pm.
