BOXING Day is said to be one the worst days of the year for people splitting up, according to Barnsley relationship coach Devina Firth.

She said more couples part ways on that day than any other time of the year, very often due to the stress of the Christmas period boiling over and coming to a head once the celebrations are over.

As a senior mental health nurse, Devina has worked in the NHS for more than ten years but also runs Darton-based React Positive Therapies with daughter Charlotte, 25, a community support worker at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Together they help people to tackle fears and phobias, quit smoking, weight loss, depression and anxiety using a variety of therapies.

They have now branched out in to relationship coaching - something Devina, 52, has been keen to do for a while.
