A RUCKSACK project to help the homeless and those sleeping rough through the harsh winter months is continuing in Barnsley despite the national project coming to an end.

Barnsley Rucksack Project is run by Adie Flute and is now in its fourth year.

There is no longer a national network after it ceased earlier this year but some projects up and down the country are continuing independently and Adie saw no reason why the same couldn’t happen in Barnsley.

The project depends on volunteers and revolves around a simple but compassionate idea to support those sleeping rough, or in desperate need, through the winter months.
