A FEATURE length documentary celebrating the greatest achievement in Barnsley Football Club’s history - promotion to the Premier League - will definitely go ahead after a crowd funding appeal raised more than double its initial £5,000 target.

Achieving the Unachievable - Barnsley in the 90s is the brainchild of a group of five fans, including Liam Dyson, 28, of Park Road, Barnsley, and will be released next year.

“It’s a fantastic rags to riches, David and Goliath story,” he said. “The support has been fantastic. I think people really are proud of the town, and love to celebrate its success, and we want to try and capture that.”

Interviews with the promotion heroes Nicky Eaden, Adie Moses and manager of the time Danny Wilson have already been completed. Liam hopes the current £10,500 total will hit £12,000 by the time the crowd funding appeal ends on Monday.

The appeal can be found here.
