Barnsley battled impressively to a 0-0 draw with league leaders Wolves.

In a game of few chances, Barnsley held their own against the runaway Championship table-toppers.

Andy Yiadom returned to the starting eleven after missing the previous two matches with an ankle injury.

He was one of two changes with Stevie Mallan playing in place of the suspended Joe Williams while Kieffer Moore was named on the bench.

There were few chances in the opening stages but Wolves look lively in the final third with Leo Bonatini firing narrowly wide.

Barnsley had shots through Adam Hammill, which was easily gathered by John Ruddy, and Yiadom who fired into the away end.

Lloyd Isgrove took a knock before the break and was replaced during the interval by George Moncur.

Wolves had the better of the early play in the second half but still chances failed to materialise.

Moore was brought on with 66 minutes gone but his first involvement was to clear a corner in his own box.

Barnsley's biggest chance fell moments later to Hammill but his volley dribbled wide of goal.

It sparked Wolves into action and Diogo Jota was unfortunate to see his thunderous strike cannon off the bar and away to safety.

The same player should have given them the lead moments later but his effort from just yards out ballooned over.

The next big chance fell Barnsley's way but Moncur lashed at Moore's pass and his effort from the edge of the box drifted harmlessly wide.
