WORSBROUGH’S Mary Spencer will mingle with royalty on Sunday when she attends the The Patron’s Lunch in London.

Mary, 90, has got herself a new dress for the street party on The Mall which celebrates the Queen’s patronage of more than 600 charities and organisations on the occasion of her 90th birthday.

Mary, of Ravenholt, Worsbrough Bridge, will attend with her granddaughter Sally Needham who acquired the tickets through her job as a sports coach with the Football Association.

She said: “I was 90 in April and had a lovely big party and Sally, who is a top coach with the FA, announced it - I nearly fainted.

“I’m an outgoing person and I love to dance and enjoy myself and I’m a big fan of the Queen.

“I never thought I would get to go to London to see the Queen, I’m really looking forward to it.”
