AN 84-year-old woman who suffered horrific injuries when she was knocked over while out shopping has vowed to walk before Christmas.

Sylvia Hill broke her neck, back, pelvis and had numerous stitches in her head after she was hit by a 4X4 near the Manx Arms on Sheffield Road.

She spent six months in hospital and has moved to Ward Green Lodge care home where she is continuing her recovery.

She is having physiotherapy, but wants the sessions increasing to help her achieve her goal.

She doesn't remember anything of the accident, but wants to trace two paramedics who were first on the scene and wrapped her up in tin foil.

She knows little about the two women, except they were from the Cudworth area and were called Caroline and Melanie.
