ANOTHER new choir is being added to the world-famous Barnsley Youth Choir family.
BYC’s Junior Choir will hold its first rehearsal on April 20. It’s open to children who have started school, aged from four to seven - the only age group not currently catered for by the team behind the hugely successful Barnsley Youth Choir.
It bridges the gap between the Children’s Choir, which is only open to children aged from seven, and Little Singers, which was started last year by children’s choir musical director Eleanor Wright for children from birth to four. Eleanor will run the new junior choir. BYC also has a sister choir Barnsley Singers, open to adults of all ages.
Junior Choir rehearsals will be on Fridays from 4 to 5pm at Emmanuel Church, Huddersfield Road. No auditions required, but places must be booked via email at bycjuniorchoir@gmail.com as soon as possible.
