Barnsley have sold Sessi D'Almeida and Stefan Payne to league One clubs Blackpool and Shrewsbury. Central midfielder D'Almeida, 21, signed last summer and came off the bench three times in August 2016 but a major knee injury ruled him out for the rest of the season. The Benin international had featured in pre-season but was not involved in any of Barnsley's games so far this season. Payne, who turned 26 earlier this month, never started a game for the Reds after signing from non-league Dover in May last year. He has come off the bench 12 times including for the first three games of this season but Barnsley have since signed Mamadou Thiam and are aiming to bring in another striker. Payne scored twice in 12 games on loan to Shrewsbury last season.

We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
