A SERIES of roadworks is expected to cause delays for drivers on Woodhead Pass.

Starting on Monday, work to improve the safety of A628 will include a new right-hand turn outside the Dog and Partridge pub, as well as new pedestrian crossings, traffic signs and footpaths to improve the safety of walkers on the Barnsley Boundary Walk.

Lane closures, 24-hour traffic lights and reduced speed limits of 40mph will be in place, and two weeks of overnight closures will be required to finish the work. The project is expected to be completed by mid-April.
