A giant black bird of prey big enough and powerful enough to fly off with a ‘large rabbit’ has been spotted circling the skies above Blacker Hill.
One family was frightened enough to bring their new puppy back inside for fear of it being swept away by ‘the beast’.
“I’ve never seen anything as big in the wild,” said John Higginbottom, of Worsbrough Road, Blacker Hill, who says he has seen the bird twice for certain, and thinks he has seen the same bird on several other occasions.
