A COUPLE from Worsbrough who lost their son have raised more than £5,000 to help fund improvements to a hospital room for bereaved parents.

Rachel and Jonathan Boldy, of Bedford Street, Worsbrough Common, set up the Kai's Tiny Wings appeal in memory of their son Kai, who was stillborn in August 2012.

The fund aims to raise awareness of stillbirth and funds for the Rainbow Room on the children's ward.

The room is reserved for bereaved parents where they can spend time with their child thanks to the use of cuddle cots.

The couple, who have another son Keegan, five, have now been nominated for a Proud of Barnsley award in the Charity Fundraiser category.
