MORE than 40 bikers and trikers who took part in a fancy dress incubator push to raise funds for the Tiny Hearts Appeal are closing in on their target.
A variety of events are organised every year, throughout the year, by the owners of Chloe’s Crust Cafe on Laithes Lane, Barnsley.
Owners Andy and Emma Brown, along with friends Steve and Lesley Corbett and Anthony Lofts, have pushed the group’s fundraising to nearly £7,000.
Their latest fundraising event included bikers and trikers setting off from the cafe dressed as doctors and nurses, and organiser Andy Brown said it was an ‘absolute success’.
“We are nearly at our target of £7,000,” said Andy. “The incubator event was all fancy dress and we pushed the incubator into the town and all round Barnsley.
“We went into town in our fancy dress afterwards and people were still giving us money.”
The funds raised will enable the purchase of state of the art equipment for the Neonatal Unit at Barnsley Hospital.
The group will celebrate three years of fundraising in November.
Jane Mills, charity development manager at Barnsley Hospital, said: “The bikers are amazing. They are long term supporters of the charity who raise funds and give us gifts for both our premature babies and children.
“We cannot thank them enough.”
